How does the SANDPIPER EvolutionX AODD pump work? The SANDPIPER EvolutionX Air-Operated Double-Diaphragm (AODD) pump works by using compressed air to alternately move two connected diaphragms. The air-distribution system directs compressed air into one diaphragm chamber, causing one diaphragm to perform the discharge stroke while the opposite diaphragm performs the suction stroke. Check valves control the direction of fluid flow during each stroke. As the diaphragm reaches the end of its movement, the air-distribution system automatically redirects compressed air to the opposite chamber, reversing the diaphragm movement. This alternating suction and discharge cycle continues to transfer fluid through the pump. The EvolutionX combines this proven AODD operating principle with next-generation air-distribution technology designed for improved air efficiency, serviceability and operating performance.
